Bear Jam

Wildlife is a main reason for visiting Denali, but they also have the right of way, even during the Denali Road Lottery days.   This female and her 2+ year old cub tied up traffic for hours as they found it easier to walk along the road than cross country.

 We look forward to the annual Denali Road Lottery, when we can compete for a chance to drive our own car on the 85 miles to Wonder Lake.  Every year is different, but if the summer was wet and a hard frost hasn't yet come, the fall colors can be spectacular.
